Uganda Still Among The Poorest Nations

In spite of the strides it has made politically and developmentally, Uganda was recently ranked the 17th poorest nation in the world, behind even Haiti and Nepal: http://www.businessinsider.com/poorest-countries-in-the-world-2010-8#17-republic-of-uganda-4

Neighbours Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo also appear on the list, the latter being the poorest nation of all.
